Vintage 2024 was a warm, dry vintage with excellent hang time. Fruit was harvested at optimal phenolic ripeness with natural acidity well preserved by cool overnight temperatures through the growing season.
Albariño is the perfect seafood wine. Its high acidity and clean, saline character also pair well with fresh salads, pickled vegetables, fried fish and light, salty tapas.
Ideally served around 7–9 degrees Celsius.
Barrel-fermented Albariño has significant, often underestimated ageing potential, with top examples capable of evolving gracefully for 5, 10 or even 15+ years.

Review

“This is the winemaker's love song to her Spanish heritage. Weathercraft is the only producer of albariño in Beechworth and the first to establish the variety in the region. Bursting at the seams with juicy lemon, grapefruit, apricot nectar and musk scents. This is a livewire! The acidity imparts a sherbet-like texture, racy, building and rising. The malo influence introduces creamy notes of lemon pudding and Greek yoghurt, creating a sound juxtaposition with savoury lemongrass and fennel notes. So good.”
